Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons (and daughters) of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." CCC 1213

Sacrament of Baptism:

FOR INFANTS: Parents must be registered, practicing Catholics and attend a parish baptismal class.  Please call the parish office several months prior to the baptism to register for the class and schedule the baptism.

Baptisms are not scheduled during the season of Lent.

FOR ADULTS: The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a series of steps and rituals that guides those who desire to become Catholic.  This process if specifically directed towards both adults and children who have never been baptized, who have been baptized in another Christian Tradition, or who have been baptized as a Catholic but not raised as a Catholic.  Sessions are scheduled year-round.  Please call the parish office for more information at 618-537-2575.
